5 Easy to Make Drinks To Beat the Heat

The Philippines’ summer season is here! With temperatures and humidity levels rising, you’re probably chilling in your Amaris Homes bedroom with the air-conditioning on or your electric fan turned to the highest speed.

And if the cold air isn’t enough to quell your excessive sweating and thirst, cold refreshing drinks might just be the solution. That said, here are five delicious and easy to make drinks to help you quench your thirst and beat the scorching summer heat:

Grilled Lemonade

Pool parties and beachside vacations in the Philippines won’t be complete without inihaw (grilled) dishes. And if you’ve been given an abundance of lemons, bring them to your swimming get-together and make grilled lemonade.

Cut your lemons in half and add a thin coat of sugar to the fruity pulp. Place the cut part of the lemons on a pan or grill and cook them over medium-high heat until the sugary parts caramelize. After cooking, remove and let the lemons rest for five to ten minutes. Then, squeeze the grilled lemons over a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher or glass tumbler. Add sugar, lemon rings, water, and ice, and enjoy a smoky refreshing lemonade.

Buko Juice

Coconut, or buko, is one of the awaited fruits in the summer. Its fresh water-like juice provides electrolytes that hydrate you during sweltering hot days. Coconut water also becomes more delicious when added with sugar and grated coconut meat.

Make the perfect coconut juice by cracking open a young, juicy coconut in a pitcher. Shred the meat and add it to your juice. Fresh buko water is delicious on its own, but you may add sugar or sweetened milk to make coconut juice that appeals to kids.

Cold Brewed Coffee

The Philippines may be a tropical country, but that doesn’t stop some Filipinos from making piping hot coffee to power their mornings and merienda. But if you’re one of those who can’t tolerate steamy beverages on hot days, cold-brewed coffee is your best friend.

Make your own cold brew by placing your favorite coffee grounds in a metal filter and submerging it in a pitcher with lukewarm water. Put your pitcher in the fridge overnight to brew properly. Finally, pour your cold brew into a glass of ice and enjoy your morning coffee without the heat.

Milkshake

Miss those diners and pizza parlors you used to visit as a kid? Recreate some of those childhood memories with a sweet and delightful milkshake. The best part is that you can use any ice cream of your choice to make your creamy ice beverage!.

But if you want a milkshake that is suitable for different fruits and syrups, start with vanilla ice cream. Add two to three scoops to your blender and blend until smooth and thick. This is where you get creative; add cookies, wafer sticks, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, crushed peppermint, or sliced fruit, and voila! You have a delicious milkshake to quell your summer cravings.

Iced Matcha Latte

Need caffeine but need to lay off on the coffee? Try an iced matcha latte instead. Matcha is quite popular in Japan and comes in different forms, namely ice cream, parfait, cake, and chocolate bars.

Get yourself high-quality matcha powder to ensure the richest flavor and texture. Use a bamboo whisk to mix a tablespoon of matcha powder with water for a frothy finish. Add some ice cubes into a glass and pour some milk. Then, add your green tea mix and enjoy a zen and delicious drink.

The summer season doesn’t have to be unbearable or boring with just cold water. Enjoy these five delicious, healthy, refreshing, and easy-to-make drinks at home, in your office, or next get-together.
